March 12, 2016 was the day that John and Jessica said ‘I do’! What a beautiful day it was.

John got ready at his family’s home and Jess got ready in the gorgeous home recently purchased by the happy couple (2016 is their year!). They said their vows in St Stephen’s Anglican Church (also know as the Red Chapel at the Bottom of Red Chapel Ave in Sandy Bay) and had their Reception at the Henry Jones Art Hotel on the Hobart docks.

The skies were a little grey but the rain held of until the couple hit their reception (phew!).

Nicole and Michael are wed! Hobart wedding photographer, Katinka Smith

December 12, 2015 was a lovely day for Michael and Nicole to say ‘I do’! They held their ceremony and reception at the gorgeous Twelve Stones in Pontville, Tasmania. This is one of my favourite local breakfast spots, so I was excited to photograph a wedding here!

Tori and Anders Engagement photoshoot | Hobart wedding photographer, Katinka Smith

Some images from Tori and Anders sweet engagement session in Fitroy gardens with their wonderful beagles! Dogs are family too and I love including them whenever we can. I love working with my wedding couples prior to their big day. It is a great way for us to really get to know each other and help reduce some of those camera nerves so that they can just relax and feel a bit more natural on their special day. I think it worked, Tori and Anders were fantastic on their wedding day! You can see for yourself HERE.

On Good Friday I was invited to photograph the gorgeous Tamara and Bruce as they tied the knot in a beautiful and intimate wedding on the East Coast of Tasmania at the breathtaking Thalia Haven! They had amazing weather and everything was perfect.

Tori and Anders {Married} | Hobart wedding photographer, Katinka Smith

On 14 March 2015 the gorgeous Tori and Anders said “I do” in the company of their special family and friends. The weather left a lot to be desired but wow we were so lucky, we got perfect windows of lovely weather at the exact times that we needed them! It was an honour to be apart of their very special day!

Tori, Gemma and Anna got ready at the Marchant family home – which was amazing! Their make up was done by Liv Rodgers and their hair by Cath at Bboss Sandy Bay.

Anders, Stuart and Rowan got ready at the amazing Woodbridge Hill Hideaway where the lovers were wed, which was handy, because they had some work to do hanging their lanterns and setting things up just so. No rest for the boys!

Maria Bond was their wonderful celebrant and she did a great job tailoring their ceremony just so. She was also LOVELY! The cake was AMAZING and was made by Lisa Morgan at Creating Cakes. Those adorable flowers are by Lisa at Milkbud flowers and styling on the East Coast.

All in all, it was an amazing wedding for two really beautiful people. Congratulations Tori and Anders! Thank you so much for having me along to photograph your special day.

On 9 March 2014, Angela and Farrel said ‘I do’ and had an awesome party!
It was a beautiful ceremony in St David’s Park, Hobart. A gorgeous sunny warm Autumn day. David Closs was the celebrant, there were visitors from all over to witness the moment that had been patiently waited for and there were 3 cheeky little boys – the VIP witnesses. Ange was prepared for her special day in the Lenna of Hobart Hotel – a stunning location!

Deanne and Brad – Married! | Hobart wedding photographer, Katinka Smith

Weddings and Love,

On 14 November 2014 at Frogmore Creek in the Coal Valley, Tasmania, a beautiful and intimate wedding was had. Brad and Deanne were married in the presence of their close family and friends and it was lovely. The rain threatened all morning and finally sprinkled us during the ceremony – but the Bride and Groom weathered it in style.

The cloud cover was every photographer’s dream for a midday wedding and it meant that we got to utilise most of the venue for photos as well. The staff at the Winery were WONDERFUL! Very friendly and not one detail was overlooked. Maxine Lowry was their fabulous celebrant ensuring that everything ran smoothly.

Thank you Deanne and Brad for inviting me to photograph your wedding, it was a lovely event!

A sneaky Hobart wedding proposal – girls can do it too and NAIL IT! | Hobart photographer, Katinka Smith

8 November 2014, Tasmanian Royal Botanical Gardens, One girl, one ring, 20 signs, lots of family and friends, one unsuspecting guy…A PROPOSAL!

Josh’s brother, Simon had one task ‘please occupy your brother for the morning’. So he did, he took him for a mammoth mountain bike ride on the North South Track (23km for those not familiar with it) followed by a leisurely ride from Tolosa St, Glenorchy into Hobart (just another lazy 20km). It was pretty warm on Saturday, but thankfully cooled off right before the surprise proposal was scheduled to begin.

Josh had no idea, and here is what was awaiting him when he finally arrived….

Jeremy + Gina = love | Hobart photographer, Katinka Smith

I have been friends with Jeremy for a long time. We first met in year 7 and we are lucky enough that our wonderful group of friends from highschool and college are still friends…nearly 20 years later (gosh that sounds old!) My memories of Jeremy include his love of Buddy Holly and dinosaurs, his beautiful soul, generous nature and ability to see the best in everyone and everything. He is one of those rare people who I have never heard say a bad word about anyone.

Gina is the incredible woman that has taken Jeremy’s heart, and him hers. Gina has passions that align with those of Jeremy. They both work professionally and also in volunteer capacities to try to change our world. Wonderful people who have a fabulous match.

Wedded bliss, Justin and Shandelle 31 August 2013.

On 31 August 213, I had the pleasure of photographing the wonderful wedding of Justin and Shandelle (and Archie). Here is a look at their wonderful day. The ceremony was held at the Bahai Centre in Hobart and the reception at the Blundstone arena, Bellerive.
